Are you interested in the history and heritage of the Clogher Valley?
Join us for the annual general meeting of the William Carleton Society. New members will be very welcome to join our committee to help us prepare events for the coming year including a one-day event in Fivemiletown.
The Society’s AGM will be held at 7:30pm in the Clogher Valley community centre, Dunroe Road Augher BT77 0EE on TUESDAY 10th MARCH. Tea/coffee served.
Find out why the English photographer Rose Shaw (governess at Fardross House) called her book of Clogher Valley photos published in 1931 by the Talbot Press Dublin ‘Carleton’s Country’
Perhaps you have experience in using social media and running a website. We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who would be prepared to help us publicise our Society and reach out to the local community. This new website will serve as a repository for our extensive archive of 25 years of summer school activities, a project that is being carried out with a grant from Mid Ulster Council. Someone who will spend 5-7 hours a week updating our material.
If you are interested and would like to discuss it further please contact us at: wcarletonsociety@gmail.com
